When you first hear the phrase “cost effective” and “home automation” just do not go in the same breath. Afterall it is not rare that home automation costs can reach up to several hundreds of thousands of dollars. So you are going to be happy to hear what I am about to say.

Indulge me for a moment.

It is imperative that you do your home work into the different kinds of home automation manufacturers lines available before choosing one to buy in. Some of the cheaper home automation systems rely on technology that seems to work sometimes than not all.

Some of themore expensive higher end products have such expensive programming fees that go with them that could climb up to $40, just to program the darn thing. (Then you need to add in the design costs, home automation equipment purchase, & installation fees.)

So therefore it only makes sense to choose an affordable home automation set up that will allow you to start off with a simple controller and then allow you to build on it a little at a time.

We have to start somewhere, so why not with a remote control for your home theater system. Instead of Putting all of your money in one of those smart universal remote controls–
